ETHICS

Here at KJS STUDIO we make pieces that are made to last and to be cherished. We are part of the backlash against fast fashion.

As Vivienne Westwood said "Buy less, choose well. Make it last. Quality not quantity."

Many of our pieces are made to order, reducing waste. All of our dyed indigo items are dyed in-house, our printing is done in the UK and our construction is shared between our studio and our very talented seamstress who has a studio 10 minutes away.

Our tight supply chain allows us to minimise our carbon footprint whilst keeping waste to a minimum.

We use natural fabrics wherever possible including high-quality silks and cotton. Our stretch pieces are made using a recycled nylon.

We try to use every single scrap of fabric we can and love coming up with inventive ways to do so. These unique and one-off products often do not make it onto our website, make sure you follow our Instagram to be the first to see these products. We also often send out these items as free gifts to our loyal customers.

Any fabrics and threads that cannot be made use of (and we are talking really tiny) are taken to be recycled and made into stuffing for upholstery.
